When we started Best Roofing Now, we always believed that being part of the Charlotte community meant more than just fixing roofs and installing gutters. It meant showing up when it matters, supporting the organizations that make a real difference, and using our platform to help those who need it most.
That's exactly what we're doing with our participation in this year's BLOC-n-Bowl Charity Event, hosted by the Business Leaders of Charlotte (BLOC). Our team, proudly named "Annilbowl," is rolling for a cause that's close to our hearts: supporting The Dove House Children's Advocacy Center.
The Dove House Children's Advocacy Center isn't just another charity – it's a lifeline for children in crisis. This incredible organization provides a safe haven for children who have experienced abuse, offering them hope, healing, and a path forward when their world feels turned upside down.
Think about it: every day, children in our community face situations that no kid should ever have to handle. Let me tell you about our bowling team, because honestly, calling us "bowlers" might be a bit generous. Our team name "Annilbowl" is a play on words – we might annihilate our chances of winning strikes, but we're definitely going to annihilate our fundraising goals.
Our crew includes some of our most dedicated team members, and while we may not have the smoothest form or the highest scores, what we lack in bowling skills we more than make up for in heart and determination. We've been practicing (sort of), trash-talking each other (a lot), and most importantly, spreading the word about this amazing cause.
The beauty of this event is that it brings together business leaders from across Charlotte, all united around supporting children in need. Whether you're throwing strikes or gutter balls, everyone's there for the right reasons.
We set an ambitious goal of raising $5,000 for The Dove House, and I'm proud to say we've already hit $1,500! That's 30% of our target, and we're just getting started.
